A second trip to Healdsburg in nine months offered us the chance to re-taste a lot of our favorite wines from our September visit, but also led to some new discoveries, as the 2023 vintage shows great early promise, and many of the 2022s we missed last time are delivering on their potential.
While many of last year’s wines were re-tasted and scores confirmed, the list below relays only the new tasting scores from this visit. Please refer to last year’s link for those previous scores. For the second consecutive year, Bedrock provided the wine of the trip!
ZINFANDEL:
- Bedrock Heritage Bedrock Vineyard Sonoma Valley 2023, 96 Points, $60: Remarkably textured for its overall richness, as thick, intense, smoky and defined dark raspberry fruit evolves into giant black plum, blackberry and anise notes gliding over a delightfully youthful and chewy texture.
