WINE OF THE MONTH- DECEMBER
With the Holidays soon approaching, it is always advisable to have some bubbly on hand to celebrate the season. Sparkling wine is both festive and warming this time of year, but finding value in this style can sometimes be a bit of a challenge, especially if you are dead set on drinking the genuine article from a little place called Champagne, France. Instead, take a shot on a sparkler produced by a well known producer just off the Silverado Trail in Napa called Mumm. I actually had the chance to visit the winery in July, and while it was quite busy and even a bit touristy, I was impressed by the serene views looking west into the valley as well as the wine. Their recently released Brut Prestige non-vintage is widely available and was recently recognized as the #48 ranked wine of the year by the Wine Spectator. Pop the cork, and enjoy the season!
